More than ten years ago, during the Third Great Ninja War, the future Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, assigns young Kakashi Hatake, Obito of the Uchiha clan, and Rin, a medical ninja, on a mission to destroy the Kannabi Bridge. After Kakashi utilizes his new jutsu, The Chidori, Minato warns him not to use it, as it is incomplete. During the night, Minato tells Obito about what Kakashi's father had been through, and how he died. The next day, Minato departs. Later, as Rin is kidnapped by a Hidden Rock ninja, Kakashi and Obito begin arguing whether to save Rin or not.
